Description / Interpretation:

Biblical imagery illustrates the artist's vision. The bronze serpent made by Moses to heal the Israelites both descends and ascends from the figure of Christ. Just as the serpent manifested itself to heal a physical  and spiritual plague during the time of Moses, today modern medicine and theology are challenged to cure the ills of our time. The City of Angels is the new Jerusalem. The Angel of Resurrection intercedes before the resurrected Christ on behalf of the healing of the city of Los Angeles. Photo © Robin Dunitz.
