In 1981, Ann Alexandra Wolken was commissioned by DWC to create a mural along an exterior brick wall that would serve as an "x‐ray" of the activities that take place inside the Center. The original mural depicted a scene of women sitting around a large, well‐supplied banquet table with a cake at the center. In restoring the mural, Wolken added scenes displaying groups of women in a home‐like setting and participating in leisure activities.
