David Botello and Wayne Healey assisted by Benjamin Botello, Wenceslao Quiroz, Jose Gutierrez, and students of Whittier College.

Located at Whittier College and based on a course taught by Deborah Norden and Jose Orozco titled, “Politics, History and the Arts in Latin America,” in which students contributed ideas, events, and experiences of cultural resilliance and community involvment that they wanted to see portrayed in the mural.

 

"Images included the college's namesake, John Greenleaf Whittier, alumnus Martin Ortiz, retired mascot Friday the Squirrel, famed football coach Wallace "Chief" Newman, campus landmarks, the view of downtown Los Angeles from Turner Hall, a scene of the Uptown Whittier Farmers Market, a Richard Nixon campaign pin, the Whittier College seal, two students participating in the Light of Learning Ceremony, a sign pointing to countries around the world, and a Dia de los Muertos altar.
