Description / Interpretation:

A blending of Aztec, Mayan, Native American, African and other cultural iconography represents indigenous cultures in unity with each other. Quetzalcoatl, the ancient Mexican's mystical feathered serpent god, winds his way through the painting. The mural emphasizes the political significance of cultural self-definition for the Chicano.
