Description / Interpretation: 

Unemployed people waiting for relief paychecks, getting their money, shopping for groceries, finding jobs, and doing government work. This is one of the only local New Deal murals that makes reference to the difficult conditions faced by many people during the Depression. PWA stands for the Public Works Administration.
