Description / Interpretation: 

These murals, mounted above the platform benches, examine the history of Compton with particular emphasis on the arrival of the various ethnic groups that have contributed to the character of the city. Included are a Native American, Spanish, Mestizo, samoan, and African American. A tile mural at the station's entrance, designed by 11 local high school students, portrays the musical traditions of each major ethnic group in Compton. The columns contain images of women and children and statements by residents about Compton.
