A native of Los Angeles, Bornstein received her B.A. in art from the University of California, Santa Cruz. She has exhibited in Southern California, New York and Europe. In 1986, an exhibition of studies for her mural, "Magritte in Los Angeles" traveled through Belgium and Austria. A painter and sculptor, Bornstein's other public murals include the 43' x 90' "Striving Together" at the Harlem Rehabilitation Center in New York. She currently resides in New York City.
